Mechanical Test Engineer in Mountain View, CA

This contract position entails working as part of a small team of Mechanical Test Engineers focused on the environmental and mechanical qualification of the XBOX console and any components, interconnects, and ODD/HDD devices contained within. The Mechanical Test Engineer will be responsible for development and execution of the Xbox Mechanical Qualification & test process. Execution may involve going to some of our offsite test Vendors, where your support is required. The Engineer will take ownership of the execution of the test process and needs to be able to clearly report final test results and escalate any issues prior to Test Review. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the successful mitigation and root cause analysis of all test issues/failures. The Engineer is also responsible for any mechanical test development and analysis required during or prior to mechanical test execution. Any subsequent test strategy, plan, and procedure changes shall be documented by the Mechanical Engineer. Specifically the Mechanical Test Engineer will be responsible for the following: 1. Console preparation for Testing Physically labeling, downloading proper Firmware, Kernel, and Test programs Performing First Article Inspection to insure initial console physical state2. Execution of Console Pre-testing 3. Execution of the Mechanical Stress Test Operational Vibration Operational Shock Non-Operational Vibration Operational Temperature and Humidity Thermal Shock , Hot/Cold Start Drop Testing Acoustic Testing Topple Testing Non-Op Altitude Non-Op Humidity4.
